It looks mostly similar to his original one, but it's not exactly the same. I sorta modified it. Derek Hess is a genious. My mum said I shouldn't draw in his style anymore because from the time period I was drawing in his style, I had dream about zombies(not nightmares, just weird ass dreams), so my mum made me stop.
Very nicely done, you did great on the pose, the hands, and though normally I'd say the messy lines should be cleaned up, they really work for this picture.
The wrists seem a bit thin, though you might have been going for that look, and also the lines you used for blood are a bit weird. For a good effect you should have made the lines for the blood smoother, to contrast the messy lines of the body~
The messt lines work for this picture, or the cleaned up lines would work for this picture? Sorry, your sentence was kind of confusing rofl.
Weird in what perspective? You mean the ones that's dripping from his hands? Cause the shading on his biceps arn't blood. Sorry if I confused you, and maybe other viewers. But yeah, the only blood there is is the ones dripping from his hand and on the floor(also the one that's in a shape of a heart) I don't know how to make it smooth with ball point pens o= or dyou mean like... non-sketchy lines? But yeah, thanks for the advice. I greatly appreciate it!
The messy outlines for the person definitely work for this style of picture
And the blood (red lines) dripping from the hands seem a bit odd, since the blood should be more liquid-y (sorry for being confusing, I had to write like 30 critiques in a day, so it can be difficult to keep things straight)
And with a ball point pen, you can just try to slow down a little (or maybe draw a light outline in pencil and then go over it in pen...
